Rachel

Friends are the whipped cream on your pumpkin pie - the rainbow on a rainy day - the second wind on a long run - the proverbial "icing on your cake".  You get the point.  What are you doing to cultivate the relationships you have with your friends, your buddies, your compadres?  They are so close to you and know so much about you.  It can be easy to take them for granted.  But whether they are consoling you after a fight with a relative or cheering you on during a difficult challenge, friends help keep us both grounded AND soaring like an eagle.

Since I am sure you have not gotten enough metaphors in this blog post, here is another: your relationship with a friend is like a bank account.  Sometimes you are making withdrawals - taking from the relationship, but to keep it healthy, you should always be making more deposits.  Go make a deposit!
