Grant's Farm & the Petting Zoo

Since my last post, Asja & I continue to have fun. On Friday we went to Grant's Farm with the Hoffmann family and had a really good time. The first thing we did was feed baby goats. Then, it was off to the merry-go-round, the bird show and lunch. Finally, watched the elephant show and ran through the mist tunnel.

After Grant's Farm, I added the photos I took to my summer photo book and sent it to print. It is 48 pages and will arrive on the 20th. So, although Asja won't be here then, I can mail it to her with some other goodies. The book does a pretty good job of chronicling some of the many highlights of our summer.

Today, Asja made a zoo in the extra bedroom.

Asja leaves next Sunday & I am a little freaked out by it. I plan to host a going away party for her this Saturday, but I'm not sure how many people will be able to make it.

Trout Lodge II, Photobook update, Chocolate Cake

Sorry it’s been so long since I posted. Asja and I have been mega-busy. Once again, we went out to Trout Lodge. This was an unexpected trip, but we got the opportunity because the circus I work for needed someone to drive the trailer I donated to them out there with all their circus equipment. Instead of being in the main lodge, which is much like a hotel, we had the pleasure of being in this rustic cabin pictured here!

Although we did many things together, as usual, Asja spent a lot of time with her friends from the circus. That gave me the opportunity to work on my summer photo book I’m creating online. When it’s done, it will be filled with over 50 pages of glorious pictures from Asja’s and my summer together bound into a hard-cover, leather bound full-color book. Each page has a cool, colorful design, between one and six photos plus captions, quotes and stories about our summer. I’m so excited!

I’ll wait until I incorporate pictures from our trip to Grant’s Farm (http://www.grantsfarm.com/) this Friday to publish it. We are going to Grant's Farm with a great Missouri family I knew from a while back who we ran into at Trout Lodge. They have three girls and the oldest is Asja's age. They are seen here sleeping together. (Asja is on the far left.)

On the home front, Asja created a really cool web of string all over the empty bedroom. She said they were lasers and I had to get past them without touching them in order to get the treasure on the other side of the room. It was so cool. She spent a couple of hours on the project.

Then, we made my famous 5-minute chocolate cake for two. Even though we use fresh ingredients and make it completely from scratch, it only takes 5-minutes to make… and that includes the preparation and clean up! If you want the recipe, let me know. Perhaps I’ll post it on my next blog!

Today we’re off to the City Museum for an 11AM show and then we have the rest of the day to play around. Perhaps we’ll go see another movie… last week we saw G-Force. It was the first movie I’ve ever watched that had animated Guinea Pig spies. Can you believe there haven’t been more movies like that!?

Until next time…
